ThyssenKrupp Tallent Ltd’s record in employee training and development is regionally recognised with the Managing Director, Simon Flunder, being a key board member of the North East Productivity Alliance (NEPA) and also the Confederation British Industry. The nature of the products made at ThyssenKrupp Tallent Ltd demands that the workforce comprises highly skilled personnel, therefore a key initiative at ThyssenKrupp Tallent Ltd is people development and as such the company invests a significant amount of time and training in the development of its entire workforce. This includes an Employee Development Scheme along with a Further and Higher Education Sponsorship Programme for employees. The Company has received numerous awards for training education including National Training Awards Winner 1999 and in the same year we also received the Government’s Special Award Winner for the engineering's sector. Furthermore, according to the 2004 People Skills Scoreboard, a survey for the Engineering Employers’ Federation and the Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies (Semta), ThyssenKrupp Tallent Ltd, along with Nissan Manufacturing (UK) Limited, were highlighted as the two companies who invest more in training of their employees than any other automotive companies in Britain. Using it’s state of the art specially built Employee Skills Centre ThyssenKrupp Tallent Ltd have qualified over 600 of it’s direct workforce with National Vocational Qualifications.
